Email a CSV
One of the most popular ways of sending information to OnOneMap is to email us a spreadsheet in CSV format, which you can easily produce in Excel, or generate from your own database system. We've created a sample spreadsheet for you - so just download the file below, fill it out with all your property info, and email it to submissions@ononemap.com. Your property information will be displayed OnOneMap within 24 hours. We won't ask you for billing details, we won't ask you to sign a contract. If you don't like the service - just stop sending us your data. It really is that simple.
Step 1: Download the template
First of all, download and open this file to see our sample data. This will give you a good ideas of how to add your own rows.

Download the template spreadsheet It'll take about 4 seconds, and you can open it in Excel. Or Notepad. |
Open the spreadsheet by double clicking on the file on your computer. It may open in Microsoft Excel, or another spreadsheet application if you have one installed on your computer. You should see something like this:

Step 2: Complete the spreadsheet
Row 1 of the template is the column headings, which tells you what to type in the column. You can replace row 2 if you like - we've just put that in as an example. You now need to fill in the rows with details of your property. Remember that your submission will be read by a computer system, not a 'real person', so you must stick to the rules if you are to avoid your spreadsheet being rejected. Each column must contain the right information, as shown in the following table:
| Column | Column heading | What to provide | Max length | Example |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | Your reference | [Critical] A number or code which identifies the property. If you send us the same property in several spreadsheets, please make sure it has the same reference, otherwise we'll think you're talking about a new property. | 50 characters | 12345 |
| B | Title | [Required] The headline of the property particulars. We'd prefer this to be a road name or property/building name. | 30 characters | "Bristol Avenue", "Argrove Mansions", "Lakefield House" |
| C | Num beds | [Required] The number of bedrooms in the property. If it's a studio, enter 0, but it has to be a number. | Number | 2 |
| D | Address | A more general description of the area in which the property is located. Does not have to be a full address. Please do not repeat the information entered in 'Title'. | 50 characters | "Twickenham, Middlesex" |
| E | Postcode | [Critical] Enter the full postcode of the property. This is essential to enable us to plot it correctly on the map. | 8 characters | TW1 0AA |
| F | Property type | [Required] We only recognise two different types of property, so please set this to 'house' or 'flat', depending only on whether there are several properties occupying the same freehold. | "house" or "flat" only | "house" |
| G | Price | [Required] Enter the price of the property as a number, in pounds sterling. If this is a lettings submission, enter the rent in pounds per calendar month (even if the rent is normally charged weekly). | Number | 267950 |
| H | Contact name | Enter the name of the person or agency branch that should be contacted for more details about the property. | 50 characters | "My Agency Twickenham Branch" |
| I | Phone | Enter the phone number of the person or office named in the previous column. Use only numbers and spaces, and pay attention to the correct spacing of phone numbers in your area - for example London is 020 XXXX XXXX, not 020X XXX XXXX. | 25 characters | "020 0000 0000" |
| J | Link URL | [Required] Enter a full URL (internet address) of the specific page on which a person can view the particulars of this property. | 255 characters | "http://www.example.com/prop12345.html" |
| K | Image URL | Enter a full URL (internet address) of an image showing the property. The image should be approx 100x70 pixels if possible (it will be resized to those dimensions if it isn't 100x70 already). | 255 characters | "http://www.example.com/images/12345.jpg" |
| L | Decription | Optional full description of the property. Not currently used but we will allow people to search this in the near future. | 30,000 characters | "Spacious modern family home...." |
| M | Source ID |
Only fill this field in if you have an OnOneMap sourceid. You should get one of these if you are planning to submit large numbers of properties to us on a regular basis, as it allows your properties to be credited to you by name. If you do not provide a sourceid, the submission will be considered anonymous. Software vendors or any organisation submitting on behalf of lots of agents can use several different source IDs within the same spreadsheet. See below for details of how to obtain a source ID. |
numeric | 1234 |
| N | Category |
Set to 'Sales' or 'Rentals' to indicate the category in which the property belongs. This also affects the way in which the price should be expressed - sale price in the case of sales, rent per month for rentals. If you leave this field blank (we advise you not to), you will need to use the subject line of the email to classify the enture submission as either Sales or Rentals. |
'Sales' or 'Rentals' only | "Sales" |
Step 3: Email the spreadsheet
Save your spreadsheet as a CSV file (in Excel there is an option in the Save dialog box to save as 'Comma Separated Values'). Send an email to submissions@ononemap.com and attach the CSV file. Don't bother to write anything in the email, just make sure you attach the file. The email will not be read by a human, and our computer really isn't interested in how great the weather is!
Important: If your spreadsheet contains only properties for Sale, please write 'Sales' in the subject line of the email. If it contains only lettings, ensure you write 'Lettings' or 'Rentals' in the subject line. If it contains a mixture, you must set the category on each property record in column N of the spreadsheet as shown above. It is advisable to set column N anyway.
If our computer understands your spreadsheet, you'll get a receipt within a few minutes saying how many properties we found in your file, and how many we were able to list (sometimes if you make a mistake or use an invalid postcode, we can't work out where the property is). The property will appear on the site within 24 hours.
Thanks for submitting your property information to OnOneMap!
Getting a source ID
If you regularly submit to OnOneMap, you will want to get an OnOneMap source ID. This enables you to identify your agency as the supplier of the data and provide a name and website link for us to use when crediting the properties to your agency. If you send in your submission without a source ID, your properties will be marked with your domain name. You can apply for a source ID online. Apply now....
