OnOneMap's New Rental Search Facility Set To Revolutionise Home Hunting
LONDON, 28th October 2005
OnOneMap, the UK's first property search engine map, has extended its offering by adding rental properties to its service. The rental option makes searching for a home to rent easier than ever before as OnOneMap displays all the properties that it can find for rent in the user’s selected area on one map and provides a summary of the property details.
By visiting www.ononemap.com users can zoom in on the map or type in a postcode or place name and the map will display the exact location of each property on a map letting users see exactly where it is. Users can also check out local facilities such as schools and transport links displayed exactly where they are located and not described as "convenient for" or "just a short walk from". This is the first rental property search engine map in the UK.
All the properties for rent are represented by a blue house icon that brings up basic information when clicked such as number of bedrooms, rental price and a thumbnail picture. Users can then click on a link that takes them to the Web site on which more detailed property information can be found.
The service is completely free to use and totally independent, letting those in the rental market get an instant idea of what is currently available in their desired location.
Andrew Betts, who developed the service, says, "Since OnOneMap's launch in August, the site has received in excess of 1 million hits, numerous estate agents have submitted their properties for inclusion on the site via our recently launched free property submission service and home hunters have contacted us in their droves to let us know about how they found a home with ease using OnOneMap. The site is rapidly becoming the home hunters first port of call and the new rentals function will extend this incredible service to those on the look out for a property to rent."
